KS Starrgazer is a scarce Khang Starr eating pepper with thick walls, few seeds, and a bright lipstick-red finish. Pods are sweet and crunchy raw, with a slow throat burn.

About
Ripe fruit is lipstick red after a green-to-orange run. Later generations are shorter and more wrinkled than the early Thai-looking pods, with thick juicy walls and only a few seeds. Flavor is sweet and tropical with a chinense fume. Heat is hot. Burn hits the throat more than the tongue and leaves a faint metallic note. Pick at orange for crunch, or fully red for sauce and jerky. Plants load heavily and can fill a large pot, but they slump when midsummer sits near 100 F.
Backstory
Khang Starr bred this line in North Texas and first showed it in 2017. He was calling it Starrgazer by 2018 and still selecting red plants in 2021. Seed is hard to bulk because many ripe fruit hold two or three seeds, so the variety stayed in trade circles for years.
