About
Leaves and pods are both variegated. Pods hang, run about 2.5 to 5 cm long, and have medium-thin walls. They start green, often with white or pale green stripes, and ripen bright red. Flavor is earthy and slightly sweet, with a fruity note. Heat is mild. The pods work fresh, in salsa, pickled, or in sauce. Plants are open pollinated and late, often around 90 cm, taller if left unpruned.
Backstory
Eric Knight, a flower hybridizer, made the cross in the United States. The name honors Bryan Townshend and Rich Blood, who grew the line on and made the selections sold under it. Later seed is still sold as a fourth to sixth generation, and listings still note some size variation.
