Flavor & Use
A bright, floral-fruity Capsicum chinense flavor—tropical and stone-fruit on the nose—before a slow-building superhot burn. Some growers also note a clean, cinnamon-like heat unlike typical red 7 Pots.

About
7 Pot White is a cream-to-white color strain in the Trinidad 7 Pot family, a Capsicum chinense group named for the island saying that one pod will season seven pots of stew. Mature pods are wrinkled and habanero-lantern shaped, typically about 4–6 cm, ripening from green through cream to white. Catalog heat listings cluster around 800,000–1,000,000 SHU—firmly superhot, often a notch below the hottest red 7 Pot and Scorpion lines. Flavor opens floral and tropical before a slow burn. Plants are bushy, about 60–120 cm, and need a long warm season. Handle with gloves; a little goes a long way in sauce, mash, or stew.
Backstory
The 7 Pot name comes from Trinidadian folklore that one pod can season seven pots of stew. The broader family is a rural Trinidad landrace associated with the Chaguanas region; Jim Duffy and Dave DeWitt described it as a backyard and small-farm chile rather than a commercial crop. The White is a rare pale-pod strain that circulated among collectors in the early 2010s. Seed catalogs sell it as a color variant of that C. chinense family, but grower circles also debate whether some lots are an undocumented Yellow 7 Pot × white habanero outcross or a rename of Luigi Mauriello’s Giant White Habanero. No single named breeder is verified.
