Photo Sharing: How Real Garden Photos Power the Atlas

Photo sharing lets you add your own images directly to each pepper variety, making Capsi’s atlas richer and more useful for everyone.

Why photo sharing matters

Your photos show what no description can: the exact look of a plant in your conditions, how pods change color and shape, real size at harvest, and the small details that make each variety unique. They help growers identify peppers accurately, set realistic expectations, learn from others’ experiences, and get inspired by actual results. Every submission improves the catalog, turning Capsi into a living, trustworthy resource built by the community.

How it works

Go to any pepper’s detail page and scroll to the Photos section. Tap the button to share photos. The Share photos sheet opens where you can upload up to 4 images.

The limit of 4 is intentional: it encourages a complete, diverse set of shots that best represent the variety without overwhelming the reviewer or the gallery.

The most useful combination growers typically provide is: 1. Full plant overview (height, habit, foliage) 2. Close-up of pods on the plant 3. Flower or early-stage detail 4. Harvest/ripe pods 5. Key feature like stem color or leaf shape

Tap each photo row to add details such as growing notes, location, or observations — highly recommended but optional. Confirm the photos are your own work and submit.

The photos are reviewed and then appear publicly on that variety’s gallery, map markers, and detail page. Later you can go to your profile submissions area, tap any of your photos, and open the Edit photo details screen to update or add more information anytime.

We Value Your Work and Protect Your Choice We take credit seriously. Every photo you submit is clearly attributed to you by name right on the variety page and in the gallery. You get full recognition for your contribution.

At the same time, we respect your privacy. In your profile settings you can choose to stay fully anonymous — your photos will still appear and help the community, but no name or profile will be shown.

Whichever option you pick, every user can tap your photos to see your complete personal gallery of contributions across all varieties. It’s a beautiful way to share your growing journey while staying in full control. Your effort is always respected and properly credited. Thank you for helping build the atlas.

This is the main way you help build the atlas. Every photo you contribute makes Capsi better for all users. 🌶️📸
