About
Pods hang pendant, about 6 to 8 cm long, wrinkled or folded, on plants that often carry purple stems and dark leaves. One type stays greener and ripens green to brown. The other is darker and goes purple-black before burgundy. Flavor sits closer to habanero than ghost: citrus and earthy fruit, some smoke, little floral bite. Growers use it in sauce and powder. It needs a long warm season. Plants reach about 1 to 1.5 m.
Backstory
Hobby seed listings have sold this name since at least 2013, when U.S. growers were already tasting pods labeled Yaki Blue. Shops later listed it as Yaki Blue Fawn and treated it as an American hobby cross of unclear origin. Packets still throw two foliage colors, so saved seed is not uniform. Who made the first cross is not on a breeder page.
