Tiger Thunder

Also known as Tigre Tonnerre · Thunder Tiger

Tiger Thunder is a variegated Capsicum annuum grown for striped pods and mottled foliage. It is a recent specialty line, still hot enough to cook with.

About 2.1 times a Capsi Jalapeño (25,086 SHU typical).

Culinary Use

Fresh salsaor dried and ground for powder.

About

Pods are thin and elongated, striped green and gold before they finish red. The leaves are variegated as well. Sellers call the heat medium. Fruit is used fresh in salsa or dried for powder. Plants are open-pollinated and productive in full sun, so later generations can still shift a little.

Backstory

Danish grower Jes Christensen bred Tiger Thunder. Shop packets are sold as F6 or F7 and described as nearly stable, and no release year has been published.
