About

The oblong fruits reach about 10 to 13 cm long with thick, sweet walls and a smooth surface. Flavor is mild and sweet with no detectable heat, suiting fresh salads, roasting, stuffing, or frying. Plants set fruit early and handle cooler nights better than many standard bells.

Backstory

Elwyn Meader introduced Sweet Chocolate through the University of New Hampshire Agricultural Experiment Station in 1965. The variety was selected for reliable early maturity in short-season northern gardens.
