About
Repo Mang is a wrinkled, stinger-tailed Capsicum chinense superhot. Pods ripen from green to bright orange and look like a compact Carolina Reaper: bumpy, thin-walled fruit with a pronounced tail. Seed-catalog listings of this BOC × Reaper cross put heat around 1.2 million SHU. Flavor follows the Danish BOC parent — sweet, fruity, and citrusy — before a hard Reaper-style burn settles in the throat. Use a sliver, not a pod, in hot sauce, powder, or salsa, and handle with gloves.
Backstory
Paul Willet made the Bhut Orange Copenhagen × Carolina Reaper cross just before retiring from pepper growing. Bryan Townshend of Towns-End Chili & Spice in South Florida received the original red seed in 2015. Orange phenotypes first appeared in 2016; the G3/OG3 selection named Repo Mang showed up in 2019 and closely matches Willet's original red F1 shape. T-E released the orange line after other vendors relabeled it — the name is a repossession joke. Bhut Orange Copenhagen itself was isolated in 2009 by Søren Friis Larsen in Hørsholm, Denmark. Repo Mang later became a parent of T-E's Orange Sharknado (Red Shark × Repo Mang).

Parents
Towns-End’s shop names Paul Willet’s Bhut Orange Copenhagen × Carolina Reaper as the founding cross and Bryan Townshend’s 2019 orange G3 as Repo Mang. Independent catalogs list the same orange BOC × Reaper pairing as open-pollinated or still segregating.
