About
A cross between the Bhut Jolokia and Pimenta de Neyde, the Pink Tiger produces twisted, lightly wrinkled pods that typically ripen from green and dark purple to creamy pink, peach, or light purple with vibrant purple splotches or striations. The plants feature beautiful dark green and purple foliage, grow bushy to roughly 3-4 feet tall and wide, and are known as prolific producers. It delivers a sweet, fruity punch with floral and perfumey notes alongside substantial heat, making it popular both for cooking and as an ornamental variety.
Backstory
This modern hybrid was developed in Italy by Enrico Lai (associated with Mojo Peppers / Mojopeppers) from a cross between Bhut Jolokia and Pimenta de Neyde. It combines the heat and fruitiness of its parents with striking coloration and dark foliage, and has become popular among specialty pepper growers for both culinary and ornamental use.
