About

Pods start light green and ripen to soft peach or peach-orange. They are wrinkled and bumpy, usually with a curved stinger tail. Flavor is bright and fruity with citrus and stone-fruit notes, lighter and more floral than a red Carolina Reaper. Use tiny amounts in hot sauces, powders, or fruit-based salsas. Plants are productive bushes around 3 to 4 feet tall.

Backstory

Peach forms of the Carolina Reaper circulate among growers. The best-documented named line is Steve Bender’s California Reaper from Tyler Farms’ Innovation Acre program in Southern California, selected for peach color and Reaper shape.
