About
Pods are about 4 cm long and 1 cm wide, yellow when young and red when ripe, held upright on a compact bush about 76 cm tall. Flavor is tangy, fruity, and floral, close to Tabasco without the heat. The fruit works in mild sauce, pickles, salsa, and any dish that wants Tabasco character with no kick.
Backstory
Paul Bosland and Danise Coon released the open-pollinated line at New Mexico State University in 2020. The name is a pun on Tabasco: that pepper is hot, this one is not. Seed is sold through the Chile Pepper Institute.
