## Heritage

Landrace

Marconi Pepper is a traditional landrace.

Multiple independent catalogs describe the open-pollinated Marconi as a traditional Italian heirloom from southern Italy, brought by early 20th-century immigrants and appearing in North American lists by the 1920s, with no named parents. The separate Giant Marconi is a 2001 AAS F1 hybrid from Seminis with proprietary parents.
