The KS Lemon Starrburst is a striking yellow Capsicum chinense hybrid bred by Khang Starr in 2016 from Bahamian Goat and MOA Scotch Bonnet. It features a distinctive flying-saucer shape often with a pointed stinger, vibrant lemon color, bright citrusy flavor, and heat in the 100,000–250,000 SHU range comparable to a habanero.

About
Pods of the KS Lemon Starrburst (also known as KSLS) ripen from green to a bright lemon yellow and take on a flattened flying-saucer or Scotch Bonnet-like form, frequently ending in a small pointed stinger. The flavor is exceptionally citrus-forward and fruity with sweet lemon notes and light floral accents, paired with a clean, building heat. Plants are vigorous and productive, typically reaching 90–150 cm, making this variety popular both for culinary use in sauces and salsas and as an ornamental. No official Scoville lab testing exists; estimates place it in the habanero to Scotch Bonnet range.
Backstory
In 2016, Texas-based grower and YouTuber Khang Starr crossed a Bahamian Goat pepper with an MOA (Ministry of Agriculture) Scotch Bonnet. Through selective breeding over multiple generations, including hydroponic acceleration to F4, he stabilized the Lemon Starrburst for its unique UFO-like shape, bright yellow color, and pronounced citrus flavor. Originally intended for community seed trading rather than commercial sale, the variety has since been widely grown and shared by enthusiasts around the world, with a sibling peach-colored Peach StarrKist also resulting from the cross.
