About
Pods ripen to pale orange or yellow-orange with deeply blistered, wrinkled skin that resembles fried chicken batter and often end in a pointed tail. Flavor opens with citrus and grapefruit notes, then turns floral with a slightly sweet earthy finish. Plants are heavy yielders and branches may need support once loaded with fruit.
Backstory
The original Fried Chicken (also called BubbleSkin) was bred in Italy by Rocco Maltesi around 2016 as a cross of 7 Pot Bubblegum Orange and Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion. Kevin Bane of Loudon, Tennessee obtained material from the Italian grower and selected or further crossed it in his field, describing the result as a very hot and flavorful cross from an Italian friend plus an accidental cross that happened in his field.
