Long, meaty pods with thick walls that ripen from green to bright red. Sweet undertones with clear heat make it suited to roasting. Plants are productive and adapted to high-elevation, short-season conditions.

Backstory

Colorado State University researcher Mike Bartolo selected a hotter line from the Pueblo Mirasol / Mosco population that traces to seeds saved by his uncle Harry Mosco. The variety was named for Pueblo farmer Pete Giadone, a founder of the Pueblo Chile and Frijoles Festival, and debuted around 2018.
