About
Pods start deep purple and ripen to reddish-orange, often with long stinger tails and a heavily wrinkled, gnarly surface. Flavor is fruity and floral with a light smokiness before the superhot burn builds. Plants reach 4 to 5 feet with dark foliage and need a long warm season in full sun.
Backstory
The Purple Gator Jigsaw line comes from Italian breeder Rocco Maltesi as a color variant of the original Gator Jigsaw. Texas Hot Peppers later selected the Longtail phenotype for pods with especially long and gnarly tails.
