About

Fruit runs about 9 to 10 cm long and 6 to 7 cm wide, an elongated mini bell with thin glossy walls. It starts green with white stripes, passes through red-and-white, and finishes chocolate with cherry-red stripes. Eat it raw, stuff it with cheese, slice it into a salad, or roast it whole. Plants stay 45 to 60 cm tall and fit a patio pot as easily as a garden bed.

Backstory

PanAmerican Seed in West Chicago, Illinois, released the variety in 2021 in its Handpicked home-garden line, after introducing Candy Cane Red in 2017. The National Garden Bureau named it a 2022 Green Thumb Award winner.
