About

The Albino Sweet Pepper, also called Albino Bullnose or White Bullnose, is a distinctive heirloom bell-type pepper that originated in Hungary as an ancient variety dating to at least 1759. The compact dwarf plants typically grow only 12 to 18 inches tall, producing loads of blocky peppers measuring 3 to 4.5 inches long by 2 to 2.5 inches wide with notably thick, juicy flesh. At peak sweetness the fruits display a striking creamy white or pale ivory 'albino' color before transitioning to orange and eventually vibrant red if left on the plant. This early-season producer begins fruiting in early summer and continues until frost, thriving in cooler climates where many other peppers struggle. The flavor is mild and sweet with a rich bell-pepper taste and satisfying crunch from the thick walls. Gardeners value its prolific yield on small bushes, multi-colored fruit display on one plant, and suitability for stuffing or fresh use in salads and stir-fries. It is not to be confused with other white peppers such as Feherozon.
