Landrace
Aji Ayuyo is a traditional landrace.
Slow Food and Peru’s INIA genebank both treat Ayuyo as a traditional Amazonian Capsicum baccatum kept in family gardens in Ucayali and San Martín, with no named parents. University lists group it with Ayucllo as a local type, not a planned cross.
