Seed Exchange

Seed Exchange is a new option we’ve added to Capsi. It lets you offer seeds from the varieties you already have in My Garden and makes those offers visible to other users in the app.

When you turn on Offer seeds for a variety, your seeds appear on that pepper’s page. Other users can see the offer, including your country, and message you directly through the app if they’re interested in trading or arranging a shipment.

Why it’s there

Many growers end up with more seeds than they need from a season. This feature gives you a straightforward way to pass them on inside the app instead of letting them go unused. Offers include the country so people can quickly judge whether shipping makes sense for them.

How to offer seeds

1. Go to a variety you have in My Garden. 2. Toggle Offer seeds on. 3. Fill in the sheet: - How many seeds you have (A few, Plenty, or Lots) - Harvest year - Whether the plants were isolated - Any notes you want to add (pod color, plant vigor, etc.) - Your country (this shows on the offer) Once saved, the offer is visible to anyone viewing that variety.

How others see and contact you

On the variety page, offers appear with the grower’s photo, username, country flag, and the details you entered. Users can tap to start a chat with you inside the app. Chats are private. You can unsend messages, and conversations delete automatically after 90 days of no activity.

What you’ll see

• On pages like Cayenne or Habanero, you may already see offers from other users with their country and harvest year. • When you create an offer, the sheet looks like the one shown for Habanero, with the same fields. • Example chats (such as the Bell Pepper one) show how simple the messages are — users just reach out to arrange details.

If you have varieties in My Garden, try turning Offer seeds on for anything you have extras of. You can turn it off again anytime. Other users can do the same, so check variety pages to see what’s being offered.
